M.Ostermeier – Lakefront ep

mo

I  recently made friends with Marc Ostermeier through Myspace where  he sent me a demo of his music to listen.  It sounded absolutely gorgeous and I was reminded of labradford, in particular Mark Nelson’s guitar sound.  Hopefully early 2010 we’ll see an ep from Marc on hibernate and also an album on the Words on Music label he co-owns, in the meantime you can listen to these tracks recently uploaded to Soundcloud.  Marc’s  compositions have been described as often built from skeletal piano melodies that are augmented with electronics and acoustic recordings to evoke a melancholic stillness.

Northerner pre-orders

All Northerner pre-orders have been posted today by first class mail (UK) and normal airmail elsewhere. I’m really sorry for the delay and I’ve now sourced a new printers.  I’ve handed the parcels over to UK’s Royal Mail which unfortunately is a pretty bleak affair at this moment in time and I suspect there will be a further delay until they arrive.  If anyone has any concerns or your parcel goes missing, please send me an email.

Northerner and SJF will be available for purchase from Normans, Experimedia, Home Normal, Databloem, Linus and Dead Pilot shortly.

thanks/jonathan

Delays and shizzle

I’m really sorry but there’s been some delay’s with the cover for the Northerner release. The printers I used had a fault with their Litho printer and as the cover was being pulled through the machine one of the rollers was leaving behind some pretty bad marks. A new part was ordered and the issue has been resolved, printing will be going ahead again today and the release will now be ready  for shipping hopefully Tuesday 27th. To be honest I’ve not been happy with these printers, every job I’ve given them they’ve managed to screw up one way or another and they have the most unhelpful team of graphic designers I’ve ever met. I’m on the look out again for another printer.

I’ve decided that I will no longer be selling releases on pre-order as I really hate having to make all of you wait so long,  it really stresses me out especially more so now that I can sell multiple items easier. Both Strom Noir and Hakobune will be on the site for purchasing as soon as I actually have them ready.

P_SH – Changed Weather Melodies

Changed Weather Melodies has to be one of my favourite net label releases this year. In fact I enjoyed it so much I’ve asked Vasya to make an album for hibernate. The album is described as flowing, soft, tender, delicate, undoubtedly refreshing gentle ambient, cozy glitch soundscapes, naive piano pieces, beautiful and sublime abstract scenes.
