A friend of mine who runs wasistdas.co.uk is putting on the legendary Damo Suzuki from Can at the Trades Club in Hebden Bridge. Entry price is £7 for non members and £5 for members. Playing with Damo on the night are the following confirmed musicians:
Ian Hinton-Smith – Ian first made his name as the guitar player for Alfie [Twisted Nerve/Regal Records] but also played most of the drums on Badly Drawn Boy’s classic debut album “The Hour Of The Bewilderbeast”. Since then, he went on to play with Jim Noir which lead to the formation of his last band The Beep Seals.
Tony “Tuba” Whittingham – Tony is an ambassador for the tuba. As well as playing all over the world in brass bands such as the Brighouse & Rastrick, he has also played his instrument for everything from improvised oompah bands to jazz bands.
The Window Right – One of Damo’s favourite bands, he’s played with them in Huddersfield, London and Leeds. A tight 3-piece playing electronic tinged post-rock, they’ll be playing a full support slot and then joining Damo’s backing group for a full-on out there session.
Cool Piano Roll – local heroes, they sound like Sigur Ros jamming with the Cinematic Orchestra. They’ll also be playing a support slot and joining Damo’s backing group
Also DJing on the night is The Was Ist Das soundsystem and Dawn Hinton-Smith – Dawn’s DJing CV includes B-Music and Electric Mud in Manchester.
The second ep on Spheruleus’ net-label Audio Gourmet is out now and features one of my photos for the cover. It’s really worth a download too as the music is incredibly beautiful, especially the second track.

Talvihorros was featured in this weeks excellent Sismógrafo show on national Spanish radio 3 presented by Jordi Giráldez. You can listen to the show and others here.
To enter the competition head over to Fluid Radio and answer the following easy question: What is the meaning of the name Talvihorros?

A new friend and one who will soon have an album out on hibernate, Harry aka Spheruleus has just started up a net-label titled “Audio Gourmet Netlabel”. What’s different about this net-label is the releases that will be on offer are going to be of no longer than 15 minutes with each track no longer than 7 minutes. The idea is to showcase a collection of short albums and E.Ps that can be listened to in full during a standard working tea-break!
The first ep is out now, comes from Spheruleus and is titled Rust. The photo used for the cover is one of mine, thanks Harry!
